Specialized Defense & Strategy (SDS) was established to bring experienced leadership and practical problem-solving to organizations facing complex operational, strategic, and mission challenges.
SDS is led by Gregory Hoyt, an executive whose career has spanned business operations, professional services, national security, intelligence support, and space operations. He has served in senior leadership roles, including Chief Operating Officer and Senior Director, with responsibility for organizational performance, financial management, contract execution, customer relationships, and developing strong teams.
Greg has led business turnarounds, improved performance in challenging operating environments, and built teams supporting civil, defense, and commercial missions. His experience includes launch and test range operations, mission-critical services, intelligence and threat analysis, and UAS and counter-UAS risk assessment and training. He has worked alongside federal, state, and local government organizations, law enforcement, and industry partners.
That experience shapes how SDS approaches its work: understand the problem, listen to the people closest to it, make sound decisions, and follow through. Good leadership is not about titles or process for its own sake. It is about accountability, judgment, developing people, and delivering on commitments.
Greg is also committed to helping the next generation of leaders grow. Through practical mentoring and leadership development, he works with managers and emerging leaders on the decisions, conversations, and responsibilities that come with leading people.
